Fixing the Drip

Word Mosaic

For some time now it has been difficult to shut the water off in the shower in the kid’s bathroom.  Since the kids haven’t lived here in over a year it really hasn’t been a problem until my roommate moved in – she takes a lot of showers.

I would find myself frequently annoyed by the drip, drip, dripping of water coming from the bathroom, sometimes it was a regular stream of water flowing from the shower head. If you push on the knob and turn the showerhead just right you can get the dripping to stop but my roommate didn’t care to do this.

{Bathroom Refresh}

The Johnson Tracks

Bathroom Before+After
Ok, so I’ve been failing at this blogging stuff. We’re about to embark on a new home (furniture) project, so I thought I should get caught up.

Since most of our bathroom is original (circa 1986), we thought it would be a fun first home project (i.e. I wanted to paint and by the time we were done, we had talked ourselves into a new vanity+countertop, trim, paint, fixtures…).

A little pipe snafu along the way revealed some of Tyler’s hidden plumbing skills. All in all…we’re pretty happy with the way it turned out. Hopefully this is a good sign for projects to come!

Not only will it accelerate work completion around the house, but it will also teach your children the value of responsibility and discipline. Delegating household chores can be a challenge, especially since cleaning is usually not at the top of children’s list of fun things to do. So, it is up to you to be creative with how you delegate tasks to your children and make sure they complete their responsibilities.

To help you effectively assign household chores, here are a few tricks:

  • Practice a reward system. You may have…
